Developing PUXICO |
| The City of Puxico and the surrounding area are seeking development opportunities |
| Actions in Process for the Puxico Area |
| The City of Puxico has secured a grant for Economic Development. The grant was received from USDA, Rural Development. Supplementary funds were received from the Puxico Improvement Corporation and from the Stoddard County Industrial Development Authority. |
| What We'll Do with the Grant |
| The City has contracted with Missouri Enterprise, represented by Julian Steiner to do a feasibility study to draw conclusions about the most feasible methods to do Economic Development in the Puxico Area. Jeff Holloway was contracted to serve as coordinator and the liaison between the various agencies involved, the City of Puxico and the contractor for the feasibility study. A major tool for developing the feasibility study is to get input from all interested parties. This will be done by holding public input sessions in Puxico and by placing ongoing dialogue on this page for comments by anyone who can access the web. |
| Why do a Feasibility Study? |
| To find the best way to develop the City of Puxico to secure jobs and revenue from e-commerce and tourism. Other areas of development will also be considered. |
| Why have a Coordinator? |
| The coordinator will act as a liaison between the consultant, City of Puxico, Puxico Improvement Corporation and governmental units. The coordinator will also seek funds to continue the effort to implement the plans developed by the City of Puxico, steering committee and local citizens. |
